About Expert Judith Kunoff:

Judith Kunoff, AIA, LEED AP, CCM

Kunoff serves as Chief Architect, MTA New York City Transit. A licensed architect, she is also a United States Green Building Council LEED accredited professional as well as a Construction Management Association of America certified construction manager.

Prior to joining New York City Transit, Kunoff was employed with Parsons Brinckerhoff Inc. as a Senior Project Manager since January of 1997. During her 10 years with PB she managed projects including the Transit Center Building at the Fulton Street Transit Hub, numerous General Administration projects as well as school projects for the New York City School Construction Authority. Kunoff also served as the technical coordinator for the both the Ben Gurion International Airport main terminal building and Terminal 4 at JFK Airport while under the employ of Skidmore Owing and Merril. During these projects she employed the Building Information Modeling (BIM) for the General Services Administration as well as for the New York City Metropolitan Transit Authority-Capital Construction division.

Judy presently serves as the Chair of CMAA’s Emerging Technologies national committee. She moderated an AEC panel presentation of Building Information Modeling at the CMAA Fall 2006 conference in Tampa. She has participated in the American Institute of Steel Construction Virtual Builders’ roundtable as well as Stanford University’s Center for Integrated Facility Engineering’s summer workshop. Judy served as a panel presenter at the GSA sponsored Virtual Builder’s Roundtable in Washington DC as well as at the CMAA Spring Leadership Conference in Philadelphia and Las Vegas presenting her experience with Building Information Models used as 4D models when tied to schedule as well as the ongoing BIM work at New York City Transit. She gave a presentation entitled, “What’s Missing in BIM?” at the Zweig-White AEC Technology Strategies Conference in May of 2006. Recently she was a member of the NYC AIA’s Transportation and Infrastructure committee.

Kunoff received both her Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Architecture degrees from the City College of NY, and a Masters in Town Planning from the Technion – The Israel Institute of Technology.
